DOT Asks: What regulations should DOT “Knock Out?”

Washington, DC – The Department of Transportation is asking for the public’s suggestions on “existing regulations and other agency actions (…) that are good candidates for repeal, replacement, suspension or modification.”  What comes to your mind?  The ELD rule? The 14 hour rule? Medical certification rules?  CSA?  Here is your opportunity to tell the DOT your opinion on these or other issues that you believe need to be knocked out.

UPDATED Comments are due by December 1, 2017.  You may submit your opinions by clicking here.

You do not need to be an expert, lawyer or politician to submit a comment to the agency.  Just use your own words and share your opinions and stories to back it up.  The more details the better.

A copy of DOT’s Notice inviting public comment may be found here.

FMCSA has a short page with helpful advice on writing effective comments.  It may be found here.

A complete set of the FMCSRs can be found, here.
